Authentic Louis Vuitton Murakami

"Is this an Authentic Louis Vuitton Murakami?" has to be one of the most common questions these days. With the introduction of the authentic Louis Vuitton Murakami range it seems as though two huge new industries were created.

New industry #1 - Seasoned lovers of Louis Vuitton and 'newbies' alike working tirelessly to grab one of these classics in the making.

New Industry #2 - Seasoned copiers rubbing their hands with glee and advertising in the papers for more workers to fill the demands they were sure would follow - and they were not wrong!

But how CAN you make sure you avoid spending thousands of dollars (because that is what an authentic Louis Vuitton Murakami will probably cost you now!) and ending up being the victim of the "old bait & switch" move (For those who haven't read about that particulate trick yet - this is where a seller shows a picture of an authentic Louis Vuitton Murakami, has you falling over yourself to buy, charges you a vast sum and then sends you a fake of whatever dubious quality!)

Thankfully, there are a few ways that you can seriously reduce your chance of being the unwitting buyer of a replica.

1 Unless they have changed the range recently (??!!?? - unlikely as they ceased production in summer 2003) the only items available in the authentic Louis Vuitton Murakami Cherry Blossom range are the:-

1. Retro
2. Papillon
3. Porte Tresor International Organizer Wallet
4. Pochette
5. Address book
6. Bracelet
7. Porte Monnaie Plat Change Purse
8. Pochette Clefs Key/change holder
9. Mirror Case
10. Pink character scarf. ( I believe they also created further colors of scarf which I have never managed to track down, specifically blue based with light blue blossoms, cream with red blossoms and yellow with pink blossoms.)

Therefore, if someone is offering for sale an Authentic Louis Vuitton Murakami Speedy or Keepall or Mini Looping etc in the Cherry Blossom range, you can be fairly sure it is a replica.

2 Always think logically when you see the price - leave emotion out of it if at all possible. If you consider that the Retro handbag was sold in the stores for $950.00 ( or was it $955.00?) then you are NOT going to see one being offered for less anywhere.

Would you buy something this marketable and sell at a huge loss?

No, so neither is the seller advertising it for $150.00 if it is an authentic Louis Vuitton Murakami. It's a replica. Be prepared to pay anything up to double the original store price for anything in the range, including the less circulated items such as the Mirror and Scarves!

3 First of two good tips for avoiding replicas - The majority of copies out there have the coloring for the flower faces totally wrong, using a bright yellow which should be a much lighter pastel shade.

Second good tip - the placement of the LV symbol is standard on the bags, doesn't differ on each "build" so use it as a ready reckoner. Pay special attention to the flap on the Retro as many replicas place the LV symbol low down, not almost on the top ridge where they should be.

For both of these tips check out the page dealing with the Louis Vuitton Murakami bags - the pictures on there are of authentic Louis Vuitton Murakami Cherry Blossom bags and they should be used for a visual comparison.
